   Asphalt Additives   Asphalt additives are materials that improve the adhesion of aggregates to asphalt cement. They are also used to improve pavement performance by reducing moisture-induced damage and rutting. Hot mix asphalt is composed of approximately 95% stone and sand that has been bound together with the aid of asphalt cement. Asphalt cement is a heated aggregate that is combined and mixed with the aggregate at a hot mix asphalt facility. Asphalt additives are materials that are mixed into the asphalt binder to improve the performance of the asphalt product. Additives can be incorporated into the binder using hot mix, warm mix, or cold mix technologies. Modified asphalt is used in road construction and paving, roofing, and the construction of airports and parking lots, among other things. These ropes are lighter in weight than metal ropes and far more durable than natural fiber ropes. They have properties such as high tensile strength, abrasion resistance, and superior flexibility. A synthetic rope is a collection of synthetic fibers that have been twisted or braided together to form a larger and stronger structure. Polypropylene, polyester, nylon, polyethylene, and specialty fibers are used to make synthetic ropes.   Synthetic ropes are used in the marine and fishing industries due to their lightweight, reduced knocking up and making downtime, ease of handling, floating properties, and lack of re-lubrication.
