Australia & New Zealand Herbal Supplements industry is expanding with growing awareness regarding benefits of herbal supplements

 Herbal Supplements

Herbal supplements are the non-toxic alternative to synthetic drugs and other medical treatments. Herbal medicine consists of the study of the uses of herbal plants and their pharmacological activity, which are an important part of traditional medical science. Herbal supplements have become a popular replacement over prescription and over-the-counter medicines.

Herbal supplements can be divided into three categories, including appetite suppressants, antibiotics, and teas. The appetite suppressants are commonly known as appetite control medicines or diet aids. They can be used to reduce your food intake, including the consumption of sugary foods that contain empty calories. Some of these herbs act by increasing the levels of serotonin in your body and have been shown to effectively reduce cravings and excess calorie consumption. A few examples of appetite control medicines include hoodia Gordonii and vitex agnus castus.

Antibiotics are the other category of Australia and New Zealand herbal supplements used to treat bacterial infections. Available mostly as oral supplements, they are used to treat bacterial infections such as staph, gonorrhea, and E. coli. Some of these herbs have also been found to help in the treatment of urinary tract infections, thrush, vaginal yeast infections, and other types of bacterial infections. An example of an antibiotic dietary supplement is amikacin, which is extracted from Indian mango.

Teas are another category of Australian and New Zealand herbal supplements. These are available as teas and either as bottled beverages or in many herbal supplements available in society. The teas available as liquids can be sweetened with honey or sugar, while the tablets can be taken with milk. However, the tea can affect the stomach as some of these teas have ingredients that can stimulate gastrointestinal action. The drinks that are sweetened with honey may also contain ingredients that may interact with medications. Recently, in January 2021, Prorganiq launched a new range of premium herbal supplements.
