There is a significant increase in the number of patients suffering from Chagas disease, which is driving the growth of the industry
Chagas Disease Treatment |
Adoption of nitro derivative compound drugs associated with the host immune response aids in disease prevention and parasite control. Benznidazole and nifurtimox are drugs used for Chagas disease treatment, but they have serious side effects such as headaches, skin rashes, photosensitivity, chest pain, dizziness, nausea, insomnia, and jaundice. This acts as a stifling factor for growth. So far, no drug has been developed that can completely cure the disease. This, on the other hand, opens up lucrative opportunities by focusing on the development of effective drugs to treat Chagas disease.
Swelling
at the injection site, fever, fatigue, body aches, loss of appetite, nausea,
diarrhea, or vomiting, and swollen glands are all symptoms. Antiparasitic
medications are used in treatment. Chagas disease, also known as American
trypanosomiasis, is a tropical parasitic disease caused by the parasite
Trypanosoma cruzi. It is spread by kissing bugs and triatomine bugs. It can also
spread through blood transfusions, pregnancy, and organ transplantation.
Swollen lymph nodes, fever, headache, and local swelling at the site of the
bite are early symptoms of Chagas disease. After 8-12 weeks, chronic symptoms
such as ventricle expansion leading to heart failure, irregular heartbeat,
difficulty swallowing, and abdominal or colon pain may appear.
Venezuela,
for example, has a successful vector control program based on improved rural
housing and vector control. The use of nitro derivative compound drugs, which
are associated with the host immune response, aids in the control of the
disease and the prevention of parasite proliferation. None of the drugs are
capable of curing the disease completely. Benznidazole and nifurtimox, two
drugs used to treat Chagas disease, have serious side effects such as headache,
skin rashes, photosensitivity, chest pain, dizziness, nausea, insomnia, and
jaundice, among others. The unmet need in Chagas disease treatment is a
medication with fewer side effects. Chagas disease is an endemic disease in 21
Latin American countries caused by the kinetoplastid protozoan parasite
Trypanosoma cruzi, which is primarily transmitted by large, blood-sucking
reduviid insects known colloquially as "the kissing bugs." Furthermore,
the disease can be transmitted via other means, such as blood transfusion,
organ transplantation, congenital, and oral transmissions. Because of migration
from Latin America to other countries, Chagas disease has recently spread to
developed economies such as Europe and North America.
